Alexandria, KY (May 12, 2022) - A Friday night lights match is planned for Friday May 13 at the Mustang Athletic Complex at Bishop Brossart High School. For the first time, Kings Hammer FC will host a USL W League match as they welcome AFC Ann Arbor to town for a 7:00pm kickoff. Both teams lost their season openers and hold a 0-0-1 win-draw-loss record.

Like KHFC, AFC Ann Arbor dropped their opener by a two-goal deficit, 2-4. Many similarities exist in the openers, as Ann Arbor was down 0-2 early with both goals coming in quick succession, they managed to cut the deficit 1-2 before the half, but then conceded shortly after to be 1-3 down at Flint City AFC. The second half had both clubs score in the same minute (66') and that ended as the final 2-4 scoreline.

After first-half and first game jitters, KHFC will look to settle in and notch a home victory. A squad that is highly talented will feature some new faces along with a great understanding of the level of the USL W League. In the opener, the team found some opportunities and managed to tally 14 shots, so building on those attacking chances will be a focal point to grab more goals.

Notable players: 
Jordyn Rhodes (KHFC) - Featured as a "15 Players to Watch" by USL W League; an upcoming senior forward at the University of Kentucky. Rhodes is tied for the team lead in shots (5).

Mandy Schlueter (KHFC) - Leads the team in goals (1) and tied with the lead in shots (5). A junior in high school, Schlueter is committed to Ohio State University.

Chloe Ricketts (AAA) - Youngest goalscorer in USL W League history. At 14-years-old, Ricketts has been in the U.S. Youth National Team Regional Identification Center and is a top young star. Tied for team lead in goals (1) and second in shots (3).
