Alexandria, KY (June 24, 2022) - Kings Hammer FC will square off with another Valley Division leader for the second time in as many matches. For a short time, KHFC shared the top with South Bend Lions, who fell to Kings Hammer (2-1) on Friday June 17. Fort Wayne FC then took the top spot with a Saturday June 18 win over Toledo Villa FC. For the only Saturday home match for KHFC, Fort Wayne FC visits the MAC for a Saturday June 25 showdown that kicks off at 7:00pm.

From here on out, points are critical for Fort Wayne FC. The club has one more loss than both South Bend and KHFC. A win at Kings Hammer would give Fort Wayne a tie-breaker, if it comes to it, for the top two spots that advance to postseason play. On the season, FWFC has pieced together a few win streaks interrupted by the three losses. The season's matches have been split thus far between FWFC and KHFC, as both earned one-goal wins at each other's venues to start the season. The trip to the MAC will be one of two away trips that remain in Fort Wayne's remaining five matches.

Not looking to slow down, Kings Hammer FC is riding a club-best four match win streak. Behind the scoring of Taylor Rhinehart and Marcello Jones, each have scored their eight goals in the last five matches, Kings Hammer has pulled out three one-goal wins in the streak. Throughout the season, nearly every match has been decided by one goal or less, with the one outlier being a 5-0 win at Dayton. In each match this season against Fort Wayne, the visitor has scored first and gone on to win. Will it be a different story in this matchup, as KHFC look to hold that coveted top spot in the Valley Division?

This match will be the third and final match of the season between the two clubs. A pivotal match with Cleveland Force SC at South Bend Lions kicks off at 5:30pm, a loss or draw for South Bend would give either Kings Hammer FC or Fort Wayne FC the lone 1st place spot for the Valley Division with a few games left to play.

Notable players:
Marcello Jones (KHFC) - The second-year KHFC player is tied for the team lead in goals scored (4), points (9), and shots (10). In his two seasons, Jones leads the club in goals scored (7) and points (16).

Taylor Rhinehart (KHFC) - A super sub who scored three goals in his first two matches, Rhinehart earned his first start in the last match where he was able to knock in another goal. His four goals and one assist have him tied with Jones in goals scored (4) and points (9).

Riley Lynch (FWFC) - A freshman forward at Saint Mary's College in California, Lynch paces Fort Wayne with four goals and one assist in seven matches played. Three of his four goals have come in the last four matches.
