Fort Wayne, IN (May 13, 2023) - For the second straight season, Kings Hammer FC will face off against Fort Wayne FC in the season opener. Unlike the 2022 season, KHFC travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the opener. A change of venue is one difference in this duel, as the University of Saint Francis' Bishop D'Arcy Stadium is the new home for FWFC, kickoff is set for 7:00pm ET.

The series between KHFC and FWFC happens to be a strong battle between the two. In 2022, the clubs split two matches by equal 1-0 scorelines, then the third battled to a 1-1 draw. Fort Wayne will look to avenge a sour ending to 2022, as KHFC took the second spot in the Valley Division to make their first appearance in the USL League Two postseason.

The season opener will be the first of three matches between the two clubs. Fort Wayne will host again on Sunday June 11. Kings Hammer will get to host Fort Wayne on Tuesday July 11. One major change in the 2023 scheduling is each Valley Division club will play a 12-match schedule compared to the normal 14-match schedule that USL2 has seen for years.

The home openers for the KHFC women's and men's teams will take place on Sunday May 14 (USLW) and Friday May 19 (USL2). The women have a 2:00pm kickoff on Mother's Day and the men will play on Friday at 7:00pm. All KHFC home matches will be played at Xavier University's Corcoran Field. Sam Robinson (KHFC) - Third year player with KHFC, Sam Robinson looks to build off his first-career call-up, where he was with the Puerto Rican National Team during Concacaf Nations League. 

Marcello Jones (KHFC) - Third year player with KHFC, Jones looks to build on his career where he is near the top of all Club records in goals, assists, points, minutes, career games, and shots.

Roberto Burlew (KHFC) - A long-time member of Kings Hammer, Burlew has represented KH from youth into adult amateur. Burlew has had a strong career at Northern Kentucky University, and aims to build off the 2022 USL2 playoff appearance with KHFC.
