First of Two with Indy Eleven

By KHFC, 05/23/23, 12:00PM EDT

Cincinnati, OH (May 23, 2023) - Indy Eleven are on a great start (2-0-0) to the 2023 season, much like their inaugural 2022 season went. Kings Hammer FC are off to a good start at 1-0-1. The two will meet on Wednesday May 24 at 7:00pm at Xavier University's Corcoran Field in Cincinnati, Ohio. This meeting will be the first of two for the 2023 season.

The two clubs have played twice before, in the inaugural 2022 season. Indy Eleven holds the advantage with a win and a draw. Two Indy Eleven players have three goals each, Maisie Whitsett and Sam Dewey. There are five other players who have tacked on one goal each. Head Coach Paul Dolinsky is back with Indy Eleven, in his second year managing the USL W League side.

Leading the way for Kings Hammer FC is a Xavier University duo of Reese Carpenter and Natalie Bain. Carpenter is in her first season of USLW play, and has logged 180 minutes in the two matches played. Bain is in her second USLW season, and has played 180 minutes along with scoring her first KHFC goal in the previous match. Kings Hammer will look to build on the 1-1 draw with Indy Eleven from the 2022 season. After securing a 3-1 home win against St. Charles FC on Sunday May 14, this matchup will be the second straight home match for KHFC before having a four-match away swing and playing again at home on Tuesday June 20.

The KHFC women will play again on Wednesday May 31 away to Racing Louisville. The KHFC men will play at home on Friday May 26 against Valley Division-newcomer FC Buffalo, kickoff scheduled for 7:00pm at Xavier University's Corcoran Field (tickets).

Notable players:
Reese Carpenter (KHFC) - The Xavier University midfielder has played every minute in the two matches so far in 2023.

Natalie Bain (KHFC) - Another Xavier University product, Bain has led the KHFC defense and made her presence known on both sides of the ball. Bain helped produce the first goal of the season in a 1-2 loss at Lexington, and scored her first goal in a 3-1 win against St. Charles FC.

Sam Dewey (IE) - No stranger to Xavier University, Dewey played for Xavier in her college days. Dewey seemed to win every award in the BIG EAST while a Musketeer, as the Indiana native did the same in her HS days at Triton Central. Dewey is tied for most goals scored with Indy Eleven this season (3).
