Cincinnati, OH (May 25, 2023) - A two-match homestand will come to an end on Friday May 26 as Kings Hammer FC host USL League Two starlets FC Buffalo. Over the next six matches, KHFC will travel away five trips in a loaded away schedule in June. FC Buffalo made the USL switch for 2023 after previously playing in another national amateur league. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm at Xavier University's Corcoran Field, the first of two matches between KHFC and FC Buffalo. Tickets are available for a new 2023 price of $5!
FC Buffalo started off their inaugural USL2 season in dramatic fashion. Going down 0-2, a few halftime changes saw FC Buffalo take a 3-2 lead on Cleveland Force, only to see Force equalize in the waning moments of the match for a 3-3 draw. The second match for Buffalo was not so friendly, as Fort Wayne FC came to town and toppled Buffalo 4-0. As FC Buffalo continues to seek their first win in USL2, they will aim to knock of the 2nd place team in the Valley Division in KHFC.
Kings Hammer FC look to defend the friendly confines of Xavier University's Corcoran Field. In two seasons at Corcoran Field, KHFC has only dropped one match in eight USL2 matches. After a season opening shutout, the KHFC attack came to fruition with Roberto Burlew and Sam Robinson finding the scoresheet in a 2-1 home win over Cleveland Force. The defensive unit for KHFC is holding steady with Fort Wayne FC by only allowing two goals so far in the season, lowest in the division amongst teams who have played.
Kings Hammer FC will play away for two matches, then back at home again on Friday June 9 against long-time foe Dayton. The return trip to Buffalo will occur on Friday June 30 at the new home venue for FC Buffalo at Williamsville High School.
