Covington, KY (April 15, 2024) – Kings Hammer FC is excited to announce Ellie Mink as the USL W-League Team Captain for the 2024 season. Mink joins KHFC after a stellar athletic career at DePaul University in Chicago and a foundational youth soccer career with Kings Hammer Soccer Club. 

While playing as a midfielder for DePaul University, Mink secured several accolades including the 2023 Jean Nordberg Memorial Award, an award based on leadership, character and academic success, 2022-23 All-BIG EAST Third Team, as well as serving as DePaul team captain from 2020-2023. 

It’s also a return to the organization for Mink where she began her soccer journey. As a member of Kings Hammer SC, she reached three State Cup finals, winning the title on one occasion. Also, Mink led her team to one USYS National League National Semi-Final appearances.

For Kings Hammer FC Head Coach Jacob Morrison, bringing in a player of Ellie’s caliber was a large part of rebuilding this season’s USL W-League Roster. “It is an exciting day to announce Ellie as our club captain for the 2024 campaign. Ellie is a Kings Hammer SC product and has captained DePaul Women’s soccer for multiple years. Her wealth of experience and leadership will help pull this outstanding group together and usher in a new standard for Kings Hammer FC.” Jacob Morrison, USL W-League Head Coach
