Highland Heights, KY (May 22, 2024) – Back for matchday two, Kings Hammer FC welcomes reigning Valley Division Champions, Fort Wayne FC, to Scudamore Field. Following a matinee kickoff to begin the season, fans can join us this Wednesday night on the campus of Northern Kentucky University with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m..

Kings Hammer will look to build off a back-and-forth opening match. Under the mid-day sun, both KHFC and Cleveland Force had extended periods of possessions as both clubs fought for the opening goal. In the 80th minute, Cleveland was able to open the scoring thanks to a Ryan Sanborn goal. However, KHFC showed grit and was able to draw a penalty kick just a few minutes later. Brock Kiper slotted home the PK to tie the match, ultimately ending in a draw.

KHFC will have another tough test in Fort Wayne FC. FWFC are coming off a dominant 3-1 victory over Dayton Dutch Lions FC. Showcasing a strong offensive attack, Ft. Wayne was able to take an early lead, scoring just four minutes into the match. After the Dutch Lions were able to draw level in the 60th minute, FWFC turned on the jets late scoring two goals in the final 15 minutes off set pieces.

Heading into Wednesday’s match, KHFC Paul Nicholson spoke on the matchup against a tough Fort Wayne side.

“ Obviously it’s still a work in progress, but it’s nice to have the first game out of the way. We learned a lot about the group and what we need to focus on heading into the next couple of games. Fort Wayne are a really strong team and have been historically in the league. We know it’s going to be a really good test against some quality players, but we feel we have the pieces to cause Fort Wayne some problems. We’re excited to play Wednesday night.”

Notable Players

Rood Schnaider Beaubrun (Fort Wanye FC) – On the wing for Fort Wayne stands the impressive French forward. The native of Bois, France, Schnaider put constant pressure on the Dayton Dutch Lion defense during their last match. KHFC defenders will have to limit Schnaider’s effectiveness going forward.

Brock Kiper – After securing his first goal of the 2024 campaign, Kiper will look to carry that form into matchday two. The Belmon University forward has been impressive in training and showcasing his abilities.

Henri Kumwenda –  A strong showcase against Cleveland Force, Kings Hammer FC will look to use the Leeds, England native to unlock the Fort Wayne defense through his pace, power and creativity.
