West Carrolton, OH (May 29, 2024) – Kings Hammer FC’s USL League Two match against the Dayton Dutch Lions ended in a victory, 1-0.

The game started off with a lot of back and forth with a few shots coming from Kings Hammer FC, but none made it on target. Then eventually in the 29th minute KHFC’s Tyler Murphy scored after a brilliant assist from Henri Kumwenda. In the leadup to the goal, Kumwenda received a fantastic long ball from David Garcia, catching the winger in stride. As he sprinted towards goal, the DDLFC keeper rushed out of the box towards Kumwenda. Lifting the ball over the keeper, Kumwenda crossed to the back post, finding Tyler Murphy to finish the chance, beating two DDLFC defenders to the ball.

The goal totally changed the momentum of the game as Kings Hammer FC were approaching the goal non-stop to the point where in the 30th minute a yellow card was given to Dayton’s Teun Van Der Donk and another yellow is given to Zakaria Amro in the 32nd. As Kings Hammer pushed on Murphy made another attempt on goal in the 34th minute but to no avail. To end out the half King Hammer’s Kumwenda was given a yellow.

In the second half KHFC would have to play more defensively with the Dayton Dutch Lions coming back from half time with more momentum, constantly being on the offense. In the 55th minute a shot on goal was saved by King Hammer’s Jack Moxom. After more back and forth, eventually in the 63rd both teams made substitutions. Kings Hammer makes two substitutions, Silas Borgman for Murphy, and Anthony Samways for Caleb Frakes. Dayton made two substitutions as well and put in Johnson and Osterholt.

Advances were made by both team, but with no end result. In the 63rd minute, Kings Hammer FC Bennett Gerak is subbed in for Douglas Fajardo whom while exiting the field received a yellow card. With the new momentum added on by the fresh players, there was another shot on goal from Dayton is blocked by KHFC’s Moxom. The fourth official would add three minutes of extra time but eventually the game ends with a score of 1-0.
