Cleveland, OH. (June 8th, 2024) – Coming off a week of rest, Kings Hammer FC’s USL League Two side heads to Cleveland looking to cool off a hot Cleveland SC team.

KHFC return to the pitch after a tough home defeat to Fort Wayne FC. In the team’s previous match, KHFC came out aggressive, scoring an early goal, after forcing a turnover by putting pressure on FWFC. The chippy match saw both teams compete in hard challenges as well as showing athletic prowess. However, as tired KHFC legs began to show, Fort Wayne FC substitutions made the difference, with a late goal securing the win for the blue and white.

Cleveland Force SC comes into the match sitting in second place in the division. The only points the Force have dropped all season were against KHFC in an opening match draw. Since then, Cleveland has gone on a three match unbeaten streak. Cleveland Force would win 1-0 against the Dayton Dutch Lions, 5-3 against FC Buffalo in a barnburner of a match, then on Tuesday this past week, defeat Toledo Villa 2-1.

Kings Hammer FC will have their hands full slowing down the three headed attack of Cleveland, lead by Jack Roman (University of Akron), Marko Rimac (Cleveland State University) and Gavin Csiszar (Malone University). While speaking with KHFC head coach Paul Nicholson, he knows the importance of a solidified back line heading into the match.

“It’s going to be important. They’ve scored a lot of goals already in the short amount of time we’ve been playing. They have some very dangerous players in the attacking third of the field, as seen in the last two games. Our job will be to nullify their threats. One way to do that is to defend well, we want to be organized, compact, and make it really difficult. The second way is by imposing ourselves when we have the ball and limiting the amount of chances and opportunities for them. We want to control possession and create chances and make them worry about us a little more. It’ll be a great game. I’m certainly happy where we are as a team and we’ll be looking to get three points.”

Fans can follow the match by joining the club at Krenzler Field at 3:00 p.m. in Cleveland or can tune in by watching the stream HERE on Sports Engine Play.
