Highland Heights, KY (June 8th, 2024) - In the rematch between Kings Hammer FC and St Charles FC, held at Kings Hammer FC's home stadium at NKU, KHFC once again was able to secure a victory, this time ending with an impressive 5-0 score.

From the start of the first half, KHFC demonstrated their forward line’s strength with four shots on goal within the opening 10 minutes. Despite St. Charles FC's defensive efforts, KHFC maintained control of possession, consistently pressing the defensive line. Kings Hammer FC was able to put their first goal on the board in the 8th minute, after an awkward struggle between star forward Kylee Simmons, who was making her season debut with KHFC this match, and St Charles FC’s defenders and goalkeeper. Eventually, Simmons was able to retake possession of the ball, skirt it around the struggle and net the first goal of the match.

St Charles FC goalkeeper Riley Griffith fought hard to hold her own, making some incredible saves throughout the game. Defenders Natalie Gum and Kacey Watson were also responsible for some incredible blocks and repossessions. Despite their best efforts, it seemed that the constant pressure from a more experienced KHFC team took a toll on the St Charles FC defensive line. In the 19th minute, KHFC was gifted a goal as a result of an own-goal by St Charles FC.

After some missed opportunities and a few shots just off target, KHFC had a breakthrough moment in the 40th minute when forward Simmons was able to capitalize on a scoring opportunity, slotting the ball past goalkeeper Griffith from the center of the box. The half wrapped up with Simmons taking a charging shot-on-goal, resulting in a spectacular save from St Charles’ Griffith.

To kick off the second half, St Charles subbed off Griffith and brought in their other goalkeeper, Addison Miller. KHFC followed by bringing in a handful of fresh legs in the same minute in hopes of keeping the goals coming. As the second half unfolded, KHFC continued to dictate the tempo of the game, frustrating St. Charles FC's defense and amplifying tensions on the field. Kings Hammer FC showcased their skills once again in the 59th minute as Maddy Murphy blasted a cross from the far left corner into the box at Simmons, who was able to pull off an incredible header into the net, adding one more to KHFC’s tally.

Taylor White scored her first goal of the match on a penalty kick from inside of the box in the 66th minute. Despite St. Charles FC's efforts to regroup and mount a comeback, they struggled to maintain possession or breach KHFC’s defensive line. The match’s tension was on full display as Kings Hammer’s Lauren Flax, who was also making her KHFC debut, was issued a red card, following a hard foul on St Charles’ midfielder Rachel Jackson. Jackson had to leave the match following the foul with what appeared to be a knee injury. Tensions remained high for the remainder of the game, but neither team was able to find the net again.

Ultimately, Kings Hammer FC secured the victory, winning 5-0, further solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in the USL W-League's Valley Division. After the match, Kylee Simmons spoke on the game, saying,

“It was a really good win…a good dominant performance by all of us. This is kind of the first game we’ve had our full roster, so it was nice to have the chemistry and to get a 5-0 win is always awesome."
